I love Eric Cantona. He is the epitomy of cool. That car looks like it was thrown together by a bunch of very bad footballers though. How could they do that to the Capri? Which let's face it, with the posible exception of the 2.8i Special was always a shit car but it at least it looked good. Until it rusted of course. Which was pretty quickly.

That's no Capri, you are too far off the ground. Sad that with the exception of the Focus which probably won't be around much longer, all Ford are offering is SUV's. Had Ford's for many years so this is so disappointing

Sticking the name of a legendary Coupe ... on an over weight SUV with the wrong engine under the bonnet ... is a huge mistake from Ford. It's nothing like the original. At all. In any way. No, The Legend isn't back and even getting Eric Cantona to say it doesn't make it true - it just makes Ford look all the more desperate. Not just this shocking offering - but the Ford line up has been pants for years now. Dropping the Fiesta, the Focus, the Mondeo, the Galaxy, the SMax, and not giving us any new iconic RS models ... shows Ford has badly lost it way and lost its once loyal customers.

I see Ford are trying to ruin the legacy of two legends. This monstrosity is not a Capri!

Car enthusiasts understand the heritage of this car, ie Volkswagen running gear, and overlaying an icon over the top of it is going to upset the very people you wish to inspire. I know Fords next will be their own. (It was a two car deal with VW) Time to make legends from independent thinking again Ford. Time to think freely about what the average customer wants be it a trip to Tesco or a night out.

I think this is the saddest thing I've seen in a long time - absolute joke to try and market a modern electric car as a Capri. Smacks of desperation to be honest

Who will buy this car, I just don't see the demographic for it, it not a coupe so those familiar with the original probably won't buy it, i doubt it will appeal to young people as its more of a family SUV, a big fail.

There is a couple of things wrong here, first of all it's a 4/5 door Crossover Jeep, there is nothing that resembles a Capri apart from the badge on the front, why couldn't they just give this car its own name?

How is it any different to a VW ID.4? It’s got the same platform manufactured by VW and then the shape and silhouette is practically indistinguishable. Adding different flair to the head and tail lights doesn’t make it look vastly different, it still looks closer to VW’s SUV than an actual Capri. I bet if you just had the outline of the Id.4 and the new “Capri” next to each other that most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!
